Im not into cars – but I must say that I subscribed to this show – because the presenter is crazy and the way they cut it is stellar…

OK – here is a story about a former colleague at one of my companies (not saying which one), let’s call him Bob.

One day Bob called in to inform his manager that he would not be coming to work that morning for personal reasons. Now, normally this would be a perfectly reasonable excuse and would lead to no further enquiries. Bob, however, was already known as the interstate call-in-sick champion with an impressive record as the least reliable employee with the most “sick” days. By far! Hence, a bit of prompting was called for:

Manager: What is the nature of your personal problem this time, Bob?

Bob: a close relative passed away and I have to go to the funeral

Manager: Again? … I’m sorry but I find that hard to believe. With the risk of sounding insensitive to your plight, please show me a copy of the obituary or some other form of documentation. I just really need to be sure that you’re not screwing us this time, Bob.

Bob: …………ahhhh……ahem …. Well, you see … it is not a family member… but rather a friend of mine who passed away. …. In a violent car accident… and I was also there with him in the car when it happened….

Manager: Ohhh – that’s terrible, Bob…That is just horrible – you must be devastated…… But, Bob, you do realize that the police keeps a record of all people involved in fatal accidents, right? And so, all I have to do is to call the police and get them to confirm that they took down your social security number as part of the routine investigation..

Bob.: ooohhh, weeeellll, then they would not find my name….. You see …..I was actually not in the car after all.. But I was in another car – and it was my fault that my friend had an accident.. you see,….. we were racing … and it’s was all my fault.

Manager: Wow – that’s really heavy, Bob. Why didn’t you just say so in the first place? Perhaps you can send me a copy of any newspaper clippings or a copy of the standard police rapport documenting the fatal incident – and then we’ll talk no more of this.

Bob: Okay……. Well, actually there never was any accident. The truth is that I am gay and that my boyfriend just died of AIDS. OK?

Manager: Bob …. please try to swing by the office. There is something we need to talk about.

When i look at my little girl – soon turning into a little woman – I get a bit worried – where is the time flying? And how do I tell her in a nice and smart way that the grown ups and the adults have no big book with the formula? I still suffer from the idea that I need to find that book/list….

remember to call my mum

stay in shape
satisfy my own starndars towards investment partners
think positive,
motivate,
be social responsible (what ever that fu…. means),
build a wave energy company,
call my amassing entrepreneurs enough
look into the mobile market,
sell a mobile app company,
eat lowcarb,
understand how marriage works
stay updated on facebook
stay updated on linkedin
do an ecommerce aplication in Russian,
laugh enough,
not dress to bad,
be a good father
be effective,
see my 2-3 friends enough
kiss my kids enough
remember to get a haircut
be on my blackberry 24/7
understand what its all about…

Well – who am i to complain – it my dream to be in my position – but today – ITS KAOS :)

After taking over the newspaper – a lot of people have called/emailed me to ask for favors – with deals they want to get done with the paper. Im really sorry to have to state to you dear valued readers and friends – that ITS A BAD APPROACH. I love to help – in any way shape or form – but its impossible to put anyone ahead of each other in business ;) So please dont ask me to help your cousin the become a journalist or your friends friend to deliver the launch ;) – but feel free to shoot ideas and concepts like ALWAYS.

The guys – have been frontrunners in the FREE and SIMPLE TO USE WEB APLICATIONs. But also in the – “attutide like a royal teenagere (lets make google look like charmin uncles)” – game. But they always impress me – specially today when the sendt this mail. Its insane selfpromotion – and god stocking danm – on top the put a special offer. AND I LOVE IT – dont pass on any chance to sell (like web1.0). RESPECT!!!

(Even more fun is it – that we hired David HH when he was 16 – and already had that attitude).

Yesterday I was at this Cinama For Peace – Film, Charity, Lets Change The World because we celebrate the small movies and have international superstars (Kasparov, Swank… the ful shabang) – but I felt very strange. Invited by my German friend Christian (impressive 29y ld with hs own giant investment bank and 2-3bio in funds under mamagement) – I went to Berlin with excitement and open mind. And he intentions where fantastic – 1000 people in supernice tux and dresses – but it felt like fresh orange juice where the fruit pieces are made of plastic… Weird.

Mr Techcrunch (Michael Arrington) is really good at this.

Someone asked me what stuff I owned (invested in) that no one knows about and that is super cool.

As you see from my WILD idea – I have an urgent need to change the world a little bit. And this video of Bill Gates speaking at Davos about CREATIVE CAPITALISM (the wording is really stupid) is really interesting.

I invested in this brilliant company United Mobile last year in spring – and sales and technology is skyrocking. And now its the 800pound gorilla of the venture industry steps in – Accel Ventures – the guys who invested in Facebook – have just injected 15mio€ to make the growth even faster. Management is stelar – Charles the new CEO takes over excatl where Svenn (the brilliant foundeer!!) stops.

So – what does the company do?

I love this project – and yesterday the sales broke all records – 6th day in a row. WOW. Time is now :)

DUBAI: I really like this place he weather this time a year is PERFECT FOR (choppy) ME – and specially this Wild Water Wadi a place worth spending a day. Everything is made with kids in mind – and I mus say that Im impressed. Im also very impressed with the developement in my partsnership here (more in next post.)

Have been in ubai for 2hours – its so crazy here – no end to how fast things move. Was here 4 years ago – and now I cant recognise anything but the swanky Burj ;)

I went to the theater in Copenhagen yesterday (and normally Im no culturally on on) – but wow – that was sensationel. WOW.

I love recession! And all turbulence in the financial markets is great fun to look at for at man with NO PUBLIC STOCK. I see people on TV with stress spots in they faces and the pain from wearing tie seems to be reverse incresing with the stocks. But hey – these supersmart analysts are just hired to speak mumbo jumbo – and have no clue about whats happening behind the scenes in the real world (think Enron)… Im only afraid of my mothers sisters money – she is a hiardresser (did well – worked insanely hard with her fingers in other peoples hair for 40 years – and become a millionaire just from owning a house) – I realy hope that her local bank did not get her into the “Stocks Makes You Instant Rich – and we can lend you to speculate – and make money from the fees”…

– you never helped me – and thats my big luck – since you cant call the dept that I dont have (hopefully Janus, Draper, M and others won’t). But I really wish you a happy and fresh new year. And hope that things are not too dark. In my world – all the 88 start ups – all look good (well a couple are strugling and might die – but thats suposed to be 75%). The sun is just rising in the horison – specially in Financial services, ecommerce, India, Brazil nd China.

Love to all. And remember that science is now starting to claim that Human Happiness is highest when we dont really know what we do (no wonder im a happy camper). So enjoy if you are also on that team. I am – and I cant stop.

I must admit hat I love this part of the year – specialy when it can be done in moderate dosis….
